Cutie pie follows the story of Kuea, who has been in an arranged engagement with Hia, a wealthy, handsome guy, since they were young, who happens to be older than Kuea. As they both act differently from each, Kuea lives a double life, and Hia who has a big secret. As well as, Diao has been living under Yi protection for just existing.

Disclaimer: As always, remember this is my opinion, do not throw any hate at me yall, I am going through a hard time. Keep it, thanks. Also, ill be very honest.
As always, I will be reviewing the writing, directing, and production aspects of this series. I have nothing to do with their personal lives, what they do outside the show, or anything. I had enough.
Production: It is nice, I like the cinematography, it doesn't look like an underground show. Honestly! damn, the production is good. The scenery is pretty nice and the colors are good to look at. You can tell there was a budget, the club scenes didn't seem cheap, like a lot of other bls. The houses? God Damn it, babe yall rich out here. They had the budget for the motorcycle, the cars, different settings, so the production was really nice. The outdoor scenes are actually well done, I am really surprised because most of the time outdoor scenes tend to look... weird, you know? like it was filmed with a phone. The outfits, 10 out 10, I mean... well. Also, the soundtrack is really good.

Before we go into details on the writing, read the nice version of it: I have to be honest with everybody here. This show feels like everybody agreed just because they were gonna get views, but I not because it looked like a great show to make. You know? the type where you go "This is gonna be the one that will make an impact", what's the impact? Well, sex scenes and fetishes... Which is not new. There are some parts I did like, but overall this is just not it. There are a lot of fetishes.

Writing: Oh well, so, so, mmm. This is not it babes. I have so many negative thoughts about this show because of the writing. And yes, you can say "bro, it is just a show", but God Damn it!. I am really tired of bls romanticizing all these toxic behaviors, and the guys just putting up with it. The writing is nice at times but most of it is just, fan service, toxic guys, and crying babies. Aren´t we tired of this yet? I don't like how a lot of the characters are written, in fact, the only characters that I kinda like Kuea, Syn, and Nuea. Everybody else is wrong. Diao is such a character, lol. I don't understand why we are still making these types of characters that can't even breathe, and yall keep calling this love. Oh, no babes that HARASSMENT. Anyway, Diao is a cry baby, there's one scene where he starts crying in front of Yi, and I was just like "Sir, he hasn't said a single word what's going on here?" like yall call that love???, he is crying because he is scared of this man god damn it. Yi, well, his character did his part you know, the toxic guy who wants to dominate and acts all macho. It is not that bad until you see Diao, that's when you know this writing is wrong. Hia, the same thing, he is just a toxic man, and there is nothing wrong with having these types of characters as long as you don't romanticize them, and guess what this series does? yeah, that. Even the parents are toxic and are allowed to be. But let's focus now on the technical parts. There is no point in the first episodes introducing Kuea as a determined character. He acts like he is about to send Hia to hell, and for what? he just succumbs to his needs, sex. Anyway, why would you as a writer, do that? like that was a waste of minutes, for me and for the actors. Plus,Kuea being scared of Hia finding out who he is in the club thing, like babe, you just put a hat on... akjskja that's like nothing. Like okay, Mr. Kent. No sense whatsoever. It would have been more interesting if he had to run around having to change his hair, put some make-up on or jewelry or something, you know, like a clown, and not just Kuea with a hat. Also, Yi hiding what he did to Diao, like if you really cared for that guy, just tell him? and it got boring by episode 6. The writers really just grabbed that idea, that could have worked well for the first 4 episodes, and just dragged us through the whole series with that one. And for the big reveal... yikes. There is no character development with Yi, he is just there to take care of Diao to compensate for what he did... okay and what? like if it was something really wrong, that´s your job babe, so writers, the creativity was left in the back of the mind. If you wanted character development alongside relationship growth, you should have solved that one problem by episode 5/6, and that's on that. The dialogue is also a mess and very subtle. There is one scene in episode 10 (I think) where Hia says that he has been waiting for a long time, and there is a flashback to where they were kids, like babe, is giving predator behavior to me. Plus!, they addressed Diao´s meddling in Kuea businesses, yáll really couldn't address all of the other parts...? These characters are all so flat, they lack personality. The one thing I was liking was the third couple, it was funny. Anyways, in summary, the writing is not good, there are moments where you do love what is happening but other than that, it is just a drag, a lot more could have been done and clearly, a lot of wrong ideas were romanticized.

Acting: Okay let me tell you this in a concise way. All of these actors are passable until they cry. New is good, but the acting got worse after time, how? Zee character is a narcissist and he played his part but kasjaksjasjk was a boring man, Hia of course. Max and Nat, have chemistry, they all do, but wow, the script was so not good, and you have to work with what you have. Now, good chemistry doesn´t mean good acting, Max was very flat, expressionless, "OH! but that is his character!!" okay, I guess, he didn´t even know where to place his hands in a lot of scenes, and even when he smiled it felt like he forgot how to be human. The first episodes were good in terms of acting, but the story made the actors, BORED.
Direction: Well, I don´t complain a lot about sex scenes, but the direction for the sex scenes? a mess. Why are you giving me so many angles?? SO MANY SHOTS of the SAME DAMN THING. And is the fact that it got boring like you just couldn´t bother to look at it more, I literally forwarded these scenes because I was tired, this is not porn, is a series. It was OVERDONE, and not balanced.

Things the show could have done better:
Character development.
Addressing harassment.
The direction of Sex Scenes.
Stop the fetishes.
Yep! I think that we are all on the same page. Cutie Pie was a major BL setback. It felt very 2016/7 BL series. What a waste of talent. And, I can't believe that I agreed with every word of your review this time.😎 Nice job.
You are right as always. It could’ve been groundbreaking, but it was just more of the same cringy and fetishizing BL formula.
"I am really tired of bls romanticizing all these toxic behaviors, and the guys just putting up with it."
Agreed. Just because there have been numerous other series in the previous years, that have had similar plots/characterizations/settings doesn't make it right (see what I did there?!) for there to be these same storylines in 2022. It literally shouldn't be no sustained development within the BL tv industry.

Evidently, we are not, and due to…
