Star in my mind is the story about Dao, a college student who went to Germany and came back to Thailand to study. Before this, he declared his love to Kluen, a quiet, handsome guy who ends up being Dao´s rommie. You know the story, they have to live with each other now, some other guys are also in love with the main character, there are some fights, some drinking, and some nonsense.

As you guys can see, I have a lot of feelings toward this show. So, if you are a big fan, I encourage you to read the review, but if you are going to fight me over my honest point of view then... fight me.
As always, I will be reviewing the writing, production, direction, and ACTING.
Let's start off easy, production. It was good, GMMTV has done a good job with the cinematography, the wardrobe, and all. I mean... they have been producing the same bl every year so, why would they fail with this? The setting is still the same so they don't need to go out of their way, the clubs are just rearranged furniture, (I just made that up, but you can´t deny that every show in a college setting looks exactly the same by this point). The freshy contest was nicely done, in comparison with other versions of the contest, yes, they did a better job. You know they would have to include a whole episode in a beach because... and that was nicely done as well, I like the shots, not overdone or anything crazy. For the direction, it was fine, at this point, I won't get mad a the constant switch between faces, I am done with it, I don't wanna hear it I don't wanna see it. Now, I am not sure who decided to produce this show, or half-show...

Writing: Okay kids, here we are. The writing of this show is a mess, a disaster. There is no way somebody read this and thought "we are going to shutter the ceiling", and I know nobody thought of that because it shows. The writing is just lazy and a complete disaster (count the many times I say disaster). First of all, I will start with the good part, Kluen. The only thing I liked about the writing is Joong's character, he is Sarawat in a different, cheaper version, not a completely bad thing, but obviously not a good thing either. And there are a lot of inconsistencies with his character anyway, I know they said a couple of times that he was a "dumbass" when it came to love but, he sure wasn't when he rejected Gia´s feelings... Yikes. And then, he lets the guy he likes go away, even when he came up directly to his face and confessed... Sir- So, if Kluen is the good thing for me, imagine now the bad. Which you won't be able to imagine because I am about to tell you. Everything else. Let's start with the easiest, why is Tingting introduced as Dao´s ride or die? they barely interact with each other during the whole show, he had more screentime with his other two friends. Plus, Phap has not been able to move on from Dao, Ms. He told you he doesn't like you that way and you still begging. But also, the way Dao said that in front of like, EVERYBODY, he is the villain of this story.

This has been overdone in bls babes, the writer said "reuse, recycle" good for the planet babe, not for the show. Typhoon sweetie, I am sorry. This man was written so badly that he ran away. This character could have been such a good antagonist, but the show decided to turn it into a half-ass villain/half-ass sweetheart, and honestly, I was not here for it. I liked Typhoon but after some time I just felt bad for the actor, he is a cutie and I hope I can see him in something else, that is written well.
What is up with Georgia? This right here made no sense to me. First of all, you introduce her as a close friend, then we fight over her, then he confesses his love and explains their real relationship, then she explains her side, she is not a villain, but she is going through domestic violence!?!?, and what do we do with this information now!??! (I am fully aware that there is another show coming up connected to this one, but also... I am sure they won't go into detail as to what happens with this, so why introduce it in the first place? Since you wanted to give us a simple, short story, maybe, perhaps, KEEP IT SIMPLE). Also, why not just say "Hey, so, me and her? good friends only, we broke up a while ago, yeah, around the same time you left, honestly" and that wouldn't even mean that you (Kluen) needed to come out as "I love Dao".
What happened with the homework? Kluen lazy ass couldn't wonder why this guy kept doing his homework and asking him?... Babe, if somebody was doing my homework, first, I´ll be glad, please do, but also... why? and then when he confesses he is just "have a nice flight", my reaction:

Now, I know, people are going to blame the writing on the runtime, yeah sure, but also, shows such as "Semantic Error" are shorter and still, have better writing than this. This show introduced a bunch of people, a bunch of wannabe boyfriends, and just a bunch of nonsense. And do not get me started on Dao. From all of the bad main characters in bls, this guy is one of the worst I have seen. Let me tell you where my main problem lies with this CHARACTER (Aside from being the real antagonist), what is up with his change in humor? it is not funny, one minute he is crying, and the next he is running to meet his lover, sounds like a psycho to me. Dao will literally cry for anything and then act as if nothing happened. He made a mistake in the episode something, because as short as it was, I cannot remember episodes by number, and then he is like "I do not understand why Typhoon is doing this? to me!" sir- you created this mess?? And I know a lot of people are like this in real life, they don't have any direction in life, so for that, I will give it a round of applause. Just for that, because it was a disaster. Yes, the runtime did hurt the series, but again, Semantic Error exists so... The writing here was a no, and I am so mad, honestly, like Mariah said:

As always, you find something interesting to point out. And, I am here for it. Great review (and funny too). I was disappointed as well. This show seemed to have so much potential. I say to GMMTV get a new writing crew. There are other companies that are coming for your crown. I am completely skeptical to any new shows coming out from them. Oh well. Thanks for the review and keeping it honest . . . poor Typhoon : (
Love Joongdunk but you are not wrong at all. Love your reviews!!!!!!
Nice review!!! I totally agree!
