How "My School President" played like a cliche BL but still achieved sucess.

In today's blog post, I will be addressing my school president, no, not a review itself because it has been weeks since it ended and I was (am still, but I took some time for this) too busy to watch every single episode (I had stopped at episode 9).

Before we continue, I hope you guys are doing great and that the spring treats you amazingly. I am scared tho, as I tend to get sick all the time it does not matter if it's summer, but the spring season? deadly to me. Anyway!, love you all and I see your comments, but I have to write something well-thought-out, so I am sorry if it is taking longer to respond. Keep them coming tho :)
As stated above, my school president is full of cliches, there is nothing new about it and at times I was really annoyed by it because I felt like it we were going back in time, to the 2015 era of bls. However, as it progresses, there are a lot of things that you get to appreciate about MSP, most importantly, the chemistry of the main couple.

One of the issues that have with the most recent BLS is that they lack a lot. Whether is in the writing field or in the direction, but the moment any bl starts lacking in the chemistry? is over for y'all, the series I mean. Take for example, shows such as "Fish Upon the Sky" or "ViceVersa", in which there is chemistry but the acting is so lackluster you cant feel it completely. There are other shows in which the main couple is not giving, at all, such as "Paint with Love" or the vampire bl from South Korea, where there is no chemistry and horrible acting. Where MSP stands is that the main couple has chemistry, whether they have known each other for a while (I don't know) or not, they both seem to be comfortable around each other and so they are able to overcome some of the cliches the script has.
Not to say that on the show they are not lacking, because they are, mostly Gemini. Regardless of the character he is playing, his acting was off at times, there are a couple of episodes where I had to pause and think about it. I am not sure how this bl was filmed, episode 1 through the last, or if they filmed jumping from here and there (for example, episodes 5 through 7 or something like that) which happens sometimes, depending on the reception of the audience or as one of you dear followers pointed out, depending on the reception of bls that came out during or post-pandemic, how much did it changed from the first time they filmed and if they even had reshoots.

In any case, there are several episodes in which the acting shifts from time to time, from Gemini, sometimes for his benefit, and sometimes it just drags that one single scene. On the other hand, Mr.Fourth is a force GMMTV has to take advantage of. This man was incredible in this show, he is charming and handsome, and talented. There is no denying, however, that at times he did seem like a rookie, but that was fine, it is not like he dragged the whole scene or episode. no shade intended. Other than that, both of them completed each other at times, it did feel like Gemini's awkwardness as a character and as a person, was needed. So, to answer the question, one of the ways in which MSP was able to succeed was because of the chemistry and acting of the leads, they carried the show and were able to fill in the void the script had.
The production was lacking however, as I mentioned in one of my past posts, it seems like GMMTV spent most of its budget on shows such as "Not Me" and "Vice Versa" oh, and don't let me start on "Enchante", there is a lot of beautiful scenery in all three of these shows, but it feels like they left MSP with an iPhone, 10 dollars and a dream, and they took it and ate. no crumbs were left. What I am trying to say is, although MSP was not as beautifully aesthetic as the others aka. ViceVersa, it still conquered the audience because of how better written it was and again, because of the chemistry of its leads, *cough cough*. Not to say that I hated it with my whole body, but most of the color palate, reminded me of Sotus (first season), it looked orange-ish for no apparent reason and there are times were the color changes out of nowhere, and no, do not blame the lighting because there is no fucking way it went from blue to orange, I do not care who is at blame, but is a no for me.

Loved your review! And yes Fourth can become one of the best actors of Gmmtv and even the Thai bl industry. And yesss the chemistry was chemistrying!
