Nitpicking on Moonlight Chicken because I am bored.

So today I decided to start watching Moonlight Chicken because... well, there is a lot of hype going on so, might as well jump on that ride just like Mix. puuur. as I used to do it on my tumblr, today's blog is going to be unserious so bare with me.

I am not a mathematician but in the first episode, 2 plus 2 was not 5. Earth telling Mix, I mean Uncle Jim telling Wen that he would give him a ride to Main Street and they end up walking and then riding a stick, wait no that's later, then riding on the car... was funny, because sir where was the car parked at?

then on episode two, "you can ride with to the Main Street..." like babe, we all know what kind ride you want, not to the main street.
But listen up, episode one was so grounded. I am surprised at how well it sets up the whole dynamic. and it... What the fuck is Gulf doing in an ad during a GMMTV show... anyway, so, yeah, the first episode felt different than other BLs, it felt real, you know? like this is after the pandemic and it address some of those issues that came after. And finally, they are giving Earth the shows where he plays someone his age and not a kid. Plus, acknowledging

the fact that he is older. I get it Wen.
Speaking of... let's talk about that first episode scene. that hook up was everything. they ate that up and I liked how it just tells the viewer "this is not going to be a typical BL show", so for that I applaud you GMMTV. Obviously these two have a lot of chemistry, they can carry and they did, especially Mix. I am glad we also switch up the settings, and the color palate as well. WIG? nowhere to be found.

The writing is so mature, like damn! when Uncle Jim said "I think you know my preferences", babe give me everything you got for this we- anyway. I also like Mix's character. oh wait, can we talk about THIQCKIX? because goddamn Mix where did you get all that material from!? spare some. anyway, enough. his character is so daring like, do it babe, go for it.

My school president babes getting more attention in this BL is everything to me. This is different, and it is so weird to watch MSP and then this, it shows growth, it does. I have my thoughts on MSP which I will share once the show is over, but this is totally different from what both of them did on that show. and I LOVE IT. it feels more natural and they give off this comfortable energy, idk.
Khaotung obsessed with men not his age, as always. I hope he gives me everything he gave during The Eclipse because I just started loving him again, do not disappoint me.
Other than all this, episode two was good as well. and jesus christ, we are going full into serious shit. YES. FUCKING YES. this is what I've been asking for, more grounded bls, not those that feel like fantasies or surreal or just dumb and stupid, aside from the ones that are dumb and stupid but funny and cute and have chemistry, good acting and good cinematography and color palate and direction, I mean... lol.

Also! I've only seen episodes one and two so, maybe it went downhill from then on, you all tell me...
To my new members! omg thank you so much! you are the best of the best!

Anyway! thank you for being here while I was gone, everything is going well actually, but it will get harder from next week on so! no promises! love you all.

Something happened between the reception of "Bad Buddy" and "Not Me" from late 2021/early 2022 to the premieres of "My School President", "The Warp Effect", "Never Let Me Go" and now "Moonlight Chicken" in late 2022/early 2023. GMMTV must have realized that they need to adapt how they go about the selection of the BL webnovels they choose to adapt for their BL series, along with hopefully, finally realizing that they need to have their BL actors, be able to actually see if they can work with other performers (regardless of them being cis, binary, trans) onscreen, without having to worry about pleasing these set fanbases.
Unpopular opinion, I wasn't a fan of A night of a thousand stars. But, I do like EarthMix. I, too, was pleasantly surprised at how much I am liking this show. From the cinematic feel, the writing, the chemistry of all of the leads/supporting characters including the str8 couple, the show has been entertaining and realistic. As you mentioned Gemini/Fourth, I haven't watched My School President. So, this is the only thing that. I have seen those guys in. And, they are dynamite. Especially, in episodes 3/4. FINALLY. A really solid BL that's not relying on sex scenes to sell the show. It's sexy, adult and accessible to all audiences. GMMTV is flexing this year. Fingers crossed (not to f@*…
The next eps are NOT going to disappoint you. ALSO GEMINI AND FOURTH AND EARTH AND MIX ARE SHOWING THE BL INDUSTRY WHAT REAL CHEMISTRY ANS ACTING IS
