Hello beautiful humans! did yall miss me? because I did. I went on a well-deserved three-weeks vacation, I mean, I still am, but a lot has happened, so I have the time to write now. So, some of you might be wondering "where the fuck is the KinnPorsche review!!??" well, there is no review. PERIOD.

Before I start, I want to tell you all that this is my own opinion and if you do not share the same thought, feel free to go ahead and leave a comment, not a nasty comment, that is not constructive criticism is just bullshit.

The vast majority of you know what KinnPorsche is about, I mean, the numbers are there, the followers are there, everything is there... but KinnPorsche is a mafia show starting a stellar cast, with incredible performances and amazing direction. And it happened to have gay characters, you know, the kind that grabs your dick and looks in the eyes, yeah, the balanced one. KinnPorsche...

This is not gonna be a review itself, but rather, as the title suggests, how KinnPorsche became the standard for the next generation of BLs. And see, if you think about it, there has always been one or two bls every year that has Rated R scenes and cute moments, or good cinematography or script, but never one such as KP, one that has it balanced it out.
Lets start out with something that I consider "a new generation for BLs" (2020).

However, this new generation does not start with KP, I would say it starts with Manner of Death. Manner of Death marked a new start for BLs, it destroyed the mold and made it into a different one, but it was just the beginning, you know, the bottom part of it. After Manner of Death, you can count how many BLs were as mature (not talking about sex yet) as MOD, we kept getting cookie-butter shows, the same old GMMTV-wannabe-bl. Manner of death continued until 2021, and then we got cute shows, you know, the feel-good kinda show, until Lovely Writer. Say what you wanna say, but Lovely Writer did what a lot of BLs feared, be mature and dare to just be (Even with the toxic scenes). There are other BLs that I have not seen, so I am not gonna act like, "I know all of the others are trash", and if I didn't include the one you liked or you think is better, I probably did not watch it, but by the ones I selected you'll probably get my point. The year -2021- ended, and -2022- started with Not me, a beautifully acted, written, and produced show that showed signs that GMMTV was going to shy away from the cookie butter shows.

Bet that after all of these shows I mentioned, many production companies noticed how impactful storytelling is, not just a bunch of subplots thrown into a show, but a cohesive storyline. This year 2022 has given us everything, from the feel-good shows to the "why did they do that?" shows, even then, shows like Cutie Pie were a sign that BLs are growing, daring, stepping out of the norm, and are doing something else, shying away from the likes of Sotus, MyTee, Waterboyy, Bad Romance, Together with me, Puppy honey, 2 Moons, etc. Although Cutie Pie is not my favorite show, it does show a different side of bls, but most importantly, it tells production companies that we don't wanna keep watching the same shows... Well, that's not completely true, Bad Buddy is the exception -and even 2gether to some degree- you guys know what I mean. Beautifully acted and written, the cinematography is chef kisses and just completely different. But after that, you get the same shows over and over again.

Breaking the real mold.
Manner of Death, Not Me, Cutie Pie, Bad Buddy, Lovely Writer, and even Semantic Error, are all different in some way, but KinnPorsche destroyed the fucking mold of bls. Even though KinnPorsche had been postponed a couple of times, it was able to see how all these shows were received by the public and by the general media, all these shows were included in some type of international or western magazine (YAAASSS, we love the exposure), so, for the writers and producers, it tells them, "y'all better not fuck this up because...". Imagine a Love by Chance on Teen Vogue... yikes. And if we think about it for a minute, had KinnPorsche used the same tropes, the show would have been a total failure. So, let's get into more details.

Learning from the past.
I have not seen many mafias shows aside from History 3, one of my favorite shows. But H3 is not KP, and I am not comparing them, but all I am saying is, KP was more serious. In shows where rape has been glamorized (Love by chance, Together with me, or TharnType), KP did not follow the same pattern, and I just loved how human it all feels afterward, all the reactions are very humane and not just bland. I might need to explain myself better, what I mean is, Porsche, acting the way he did instead of "oh so now I have to put up with everything hehe" and then Kinn having to realize that he fucked up, yes sir, gives us the truth.

Jealousy wasn't treated as a "that's because he loves me" (Dark Blue Kiss or worse, History 1), but as, one, being immature, and two, lack of communication (Which follows the same trope of breaking out on episode 10 or 11 because we couldn't communicate). Although you have some moments where it's just toxic, this is not a wolf dress as a sheep show -right from the beginning we know this is going to be a rough and raw ride-.

Usage of tropes, now, there is not one bl I can mention for this because every BL uses the same tropes, but this show did not follow the same pattern (2x). Every show needs some jealousy or even more serious toxic traits such as blackmail, the problem is showing this stuff as "normal" and "cute" instead of "it is unhealthy", which is something we learned from KP. KinnPorsche did the opposite in almost every single direction, and it's because audiences nowadays would not accept Love by Chance, we do not. We want a cohesive, rational story, not just random shit happening. We Need all this stuff to be adressed, not to be cover under a mat.

Not rushing the show.
If anything we learned from what I have deemed as the "New Generation of BLs" is that, rushing your show will make it a total failure. 2022 has given us like 30 bls in just 7 months (Idk lol), which is insane, I love my gays but... chile, this is a lot. But the most important thing that we have learned is that a rushed show will result in A BAD ONE, I am looking at you GMMTV -and even Love, Victor, wow-. After Bad Buddy, we were all pumped to see what would come next, after giving us a couple of good bls, GMMTV gave us the worst of the worst, in specific shows such as Fish Upon the Sky, (I am so sorry) Enchante, and just recently, Star in my Mind. Other companies have also released some of the worst, in particular, South Korea, which, I hope, takes notes on Semantic Error writers. Even Taiwan, which releases fewer BLs, had what in my opinion was a very overhyped BL, We Best Love. I know that the delays for KP were not on purpose, is not something they wanted to do, but OH BOY DID IT PAY OFF!!??, yes it did. So, in other words, taking time in your craft would make it better. Time for rewrites, for re-analysis, time for actors to do their workshops, -now let's get into this for a minute-. The actors in KinnPorsche did their fucking job, while in other shows such as Enchante, FUTS, and even Cutie Pie (oh boy, those crying scenes were not it) you can tell they really just did not feel whatever was going on... KP made you go through the same pain as the characters, it made you feel all of their emotions, and I am sure I was not the only one who had to stop some scenes at times. Anyway, KP had time for directors to really picture their vision. Time for everything.

The final product.
After all the delays, the rewriters, and the change in actors, I can confidently say that KinnPorsche is one of the best bls of all times and the new standard. KinnPorsche/BeOnCloud did what every other company has tried to but failed miserably. The acting is great, the cinematography is chef kisses, the direction is incredible, and for me, this show is the new standard. It does not matter what your show is about, because the plot does not shine by itself, it shines because of the actors and the directors. Apo and Mile did the fucking thing, they were natural, confident, and comfortable with each other. Build and Bible, oh my god, they exceeded my expectations, blew that shit up. Even Barcode, whom I complained about a lot at the beginning because of his weak acting, did a good job. The cast's chemistry was unbelievable. The cinematography was great. Just take a look at some of the still shots of episodes 5 and 6, or just re-watch it.

Not even these cute moments, but also the intimacy in the scenes.

They are just comfortable with each other and the directors also help with this type of scene. They do not get you dizzy as other bls do... they do it beautifully, it is just amazing.

Let's take a moment to appreciate the man who played Tawan because he did that, insanely well played. Loved it.

And also, Pete and Vegas, Bible and Build did their fucking job, like the rent was due.
The script is kinda rocky at times, some key points need to be address if there is a second season, but even then, it leaves space for more, and not in a bad way. One final thought, I love how they have not romanticized some of the issues they used in the story (I said this already hehe). I was worried about what the outcome would be, most importantly, because a lot of young people have been fantasizing about some of the shit bls do, such as incest, rape, drugs, and blackmailing. All wrong, and I do not understand why companies still use those as a way to entertain their audience in a "fun" way. This is no fun. KP did not use any of these as "Fun" but as real problems, that shit was fiction and even then, it did not act as "yall this is the way -alas Don't say no-". Even when is fiction, KP is telling yall, the audience and production companies, that you can make a good show without glamorizing and romanticizing all this shit. PERIOD! I SAID WHAT I SAID!

You are absolutely right! Your reviews are always on point. KP is the new standard because the show deserves it and there shouldn’t be any argue about it.
